Look Up

I was recently overseas and as I walked the streets around me I found I often struggled with a fear of the unknown. A fear of what could happen or what could go wrong at any moment. This fear caused me to focus more on where I was walking in an attempt to keep myself safe from the busyness of the streets. By doing so I was depending on myself and I felt convicted of this as I realized this fear was getting in the way of experiencing what was right in front of me. So often I believe we can allow our thoughts or anxieties to crowd our minds and as a result, we can lose sight of the beauty of what God has placed in front of us. I felt Him speaking over me to 'Look up' and experience all He has created around me. When I let those thoughts of fear and anxiety go I felt true freedom and I felt safe as I fully recognized His presence was fully around me. I realized I am never alone as I carry the presence of God within me. I was no longer focused on my footsteps but rather chose to let God lead my steps. This allowed me to look up and see His people face to face, fully experiencing His creation. What is He calling you to face?
